Were they known for something? Never heard of them.
They made excellent quality daypacks, backpacks, and bicycle bags and made them here in the United States. Not UL by any means, but great quality stuff. We sold their products through our bike shop for many years.
Backpacker Magazine gave there pack some favorable reviews as did other magazines. I remember when they went out of business and now they have decided to go again. Made in America is kind of the theme. They make one pack that can be used for a week long hike and it is well made.
I do really like the old school design of those and similar packs like Rivendell Mountain Works. Very pricey for what you get though.
