I use the 1.3L Evernew Ultralight Ti pot for 2P and 1P now – the pot is only 3.9 oz with a Ti foil lid (4.6 oz with stock lid) so it's light enough for 1P use. When 2P I bring a bowl and/or cup with it.

However, when 1P, I'd prefer to have a taller pot that functions well as a mug, wide enough to hold a gas canister and be easy enough to clean, and tall enough to hold the canister plus stove, like the MLD 850 (even though I'd use esbit/alcohol where permitted).

700 ml volume would probably be a minimum for me.

Which are your favorite mug pots in this class?

Evernew 750ml Pasta Pot. Nice lid. I like handles. My Giga and a fuel canister leaves room left over. It's almost too big. But it isn't.

The Snowpeak 700 is fairly popular but they over-engineered the handles and lid making it unnecessarily heavy. I have the Toaks 700ml and it works fine for when I need to pack a canister and stove. I own two of their pots and they seem to be a good combination of quality and price.

But!

If I had to do it all over again, I'd get the 750ml Evernew Pasta Pot.

Thanks Ken and Ian, exactly what I wanted to know, especially about having room for your stove with the canister (assuming 110g canister). Have read good things about it. I'm comparing it to similar ones out there, but so far it looks like a winner. Have read it has a nice tight-fitting lid.

Ken do you cook in the pot or do boil in bag? Do you have a TD cone or MYOG windscreen for yours? Do you think the pot leaves enough room around the canister to squeeze in a TD cone around it, if you wanted to have that option?

Since they are close to the same price, size, shape and weight, is there any advantage to the .75L Evernew Ti Pasta Pot over the MLD 850L Ti Pot?

"Ken do you cook in the pot or do boil in bag? " Both, usually in the pot.

"Do you have a TD cone or MYOG windscreen for yours?" TD Fusion.

"Do you think the pot leaves enough room around the canister to squeeze in a TD cone around it, if you wanted to have that option?" No. Positively not.

All you need now is your personal preference. Both excellent choices.

My very first cook set I bought in the '80's was Evernew. Still brand loyal I guess. My other set is a Evernew pot also.

Ok – 600 mL is less than 700 mL.

However……take the mug. Put your lighter, tin foil, and stove in the bottom (the Snow Peak ones fit nicely). Take your gas canister, flip it upside down, and it will fit snugly into the mug!!! It acts as a 'lid' so the stove and other goodies won't fall out. And, it will stay put until you tap it against your palm to get the canister out.

I find that I can push the canister into the mug about half an inch – enough that it will keep the stove and lighter secure. I hate it when little things rattle around with every step.

I know you said 1p, but I use a Toaks 900ml To pot with fold out handles. I can fit my Kovea Spider, the included sparker, 110g canister, and snow peak hot lips inside.
