weight of a knot

i'm sitting here with my tarp prepping it for an upcoming trip and can't help but wonder how much all these knots in the guylines weigh.

have i just crossed into some OCD land or am i as sane as the rest of you ;)

Probably best to knot think about it too much.

It is, however, probably worth considering what system of guylines, loops, knots, stakes, etc. weighs the least at the performance level you require.

Bust out your scale. Every OCD BPLr has a scale, right? Report back. With photos.

You repeated yourself in the excerpt above.

Overhand knots reduce strength of a line by about 50%. So if a knotted line is strong enough, you have twice the line you need to have.

I went back to single fisherman knots from double fisherman and cut knot weight 50%.
