There is a lot of river stuff here in Texas – not so much backpacking, but definitely a few rivers to float here in Austin, as well as some others to explore further afield.

10. Trekking pants with Velcro’d wag bag for the ULer on the go who has to go

You're already practically in Mexico…go to a warm beach where you can snorkel. Very therapeutic for your ankle and anything else that ails you.
