Folks,

I am thinking of sending my Alpinelite in for an overfill.
WM reckons it will add 5f to the rating but I read this could be conservative. I am wondering have anyone has experience of the before and after of the specific bag.

Cheers,

Stephen

Overfill does almost nothing for warmth… if you're wanting a warmer bag, I'd get a Versalite.

To me, a bag should be ordered ahead of time with the overfill included at the time of mfg. Not that it can't be done afterwards, it's just a bit backwards and I really don't think it's worth the expense or extra weight.

I currently have a Versalite and Alpinlite, both with overfill… in fact all the WM bags I've had I got with overfill. All came from Hermit's Hut which offers the option free. Otherwise I'd just stick with the normal fill.

Thanks Brandon, I had decided against it after talking to a buddy.

Just an FYI. I had my WM bag overfilled. Cost $25 and I got it back in less than two weeks. I did find that the bag is indeed warmer with it done.

FYI, I was just quoted $40-$50 for adding 3 oz to a Megalite by WM over the phone. I don't know if that reflects the fact that down prices are up, or if they charge different prices for different sleeping bag models…

I too was quoted $40-50 for overfill on a Summerlite when I called recently for a quote. I am still debating it; but leaning towards not doing it.
