A friend and I have next week off of work, we both work at the local high school and want to do 3-5 days in the Trinity Alps followed by a tour of the local breweries as we head back down the coast to Santa Barbara. Any suggestions on 3-5 day trips in the area???

hi there.
i did a 3.5 day loop up there a number of years ago. there are some details and a rough map in this thread:

easy to add the "four lakes loop" and a scramble up to siligo peak.
great way to see lots of the area in a nice loop.
Thanks for the reply what do you think the weather will be like. I have no experience camping in the snow as of yet and from some of the pictures it looks like the snow pack is pretty heavy up until june and july
Wait… next week? Someone up north will have to tell you more, but even in this bad snow year, I would think you don't want to be there next week!
Call and ask about current conditions. Nice temps right now. But no idea of snow depth, if any.

There is not much snow to speak of right now in the trinities unless you are on the highest peaks.
If you are totally unfamiliar with snow camping then it could be a little daunting but this is really been a prime winter for outdoors activities here in northern California (except snow sports that is)
I'm heading up this weekend to somewhere in the Alps. But I'm not going very high, and we aren't doing anything overly ambitious, while the snow pack is very low, we will probably encounter some.
Canyon Creek is south facing, and not at a really high elevation, might be a good place to check it out if you haven't been.
No rain in the forecast until next Tuesday.
Thanks so much, for all of the great information
