Got out in the LP with Craig and Michael to enjoy some of this fine weather we are finally receiving. Conditions were pretty much awful, six inches of slush, mixed rain and snow, wind and all that. But I was in good company, and we had whiskey, so yeah, pretty much guaranteed fun. Got some pretty good laughs from the fellas when I explained part of my gear tactic for this stormy hike was to "just wet out". This shouldve been a miserable time, but these two have a way of fabricating fun when it's nowhere to be found. Anyway, just wanted to share some of my photos with you good BPL folks.

Awesome. Extra style for the kitchen tarp.

Glad everyone is finally getting a bit of winter. It took me three tries to get out of the driveway this afternoon, with studded tires. Closer to three feet than two in the front yard.

Craig, I dig how those gopro pics are coming out man. makes us look pretty rugged and chiseled out there…and we need all the help we can get.

Let's see Dan, I'm not sure I know exactly. Oh we parked on the dirt road headed to fish bowls trailhead. Our little car wasn't having the snow, so we walked the fire road in halfway and then broke off into the woods to camp.

Cool trip guys! That area is a favorite in the winter when the gate is closed and visitors have to earn it if they want to get in there. Kinda' surprise not to see more snow in those photos, some other parts of LPNF got absolutely blasted w/ rain (up to 18" over the course of the week).

Digging the look of the photos too. Some cool filters.

I haven't made it out for too many overnight trips this winter. Lack of water, time and a bout of bronchitis ate up most of my winter hiking season, although Jhaura and I managed to get a brief dusting of snow up on Pine Mountain on a quick overnighter a week or two back. Guess that'll have to do…

Nico,
this actually took place over a month ago, during our last little bout of "snow". lol. but yeah, I could see how just a couple of days of bad luck would knock out an entire winter season of hiking around here! Anyway, on to spring hiking I guess!
