Has anybody made any lightweight camp shoes?
Thanks
EricFeb 12, 2014 at 9:41 am #2072628Feb 12, 2014 at 10:36 am #2072651My first edition Exodus Sandals (roughly at size 12) are 212 grams for the pair. Great for streams, mud, as much snow as you want and even great for down-time in camp.
Lots of options out there. Happy hunting!Feb 12, 2014 at 12:24 pm #2072684Thanks for the shout out, Steven!
Eric, let us know if we can help in any way. A photo of our XO Original's is included below…
Thanks,

Feb 13, 2014 at 8:35 am #2073001I've never used "camp shoes/sandals" as they are extra weight. Besides, I already have camp shoes on my feet :)

Feb 21, 2014 at 9:01 pm #2075883Watch out lest you break the heal cup. No bueno.
Feb 21, 2014 at 11:23 pm #2075917They're Nike Frees my favorite hiking shoe … they don't have a traditional "structured" heel cup to break, I've done this with all my pairs I've had.
"Heel cups? We don't need no stinking heel cups" ;-)
Feb 22, 2014 at 5:18 am #2075931Just sayin'. I had a heel cup split on a pair of Innov8 330s 6 miles into a 24 mile hike. Blister city.
Feb 22, 2014 at 9:26 am #2075995Ken, Unlike the Nike Frees which don't have a structured heel cup, Inov-8s do havc a structured heel cup … it's an apples and oranges situation.
Structured heel cups which would make it very difficult to bend down the back of the shoe to go in to slipper mode. Is that how you split yours? or was it a quality control issue from just normal use?
Btw, I've logged miles in slipper mode on the Frees (relatively level terrain). YMMV
