I have embarked on a MYOG project and am having difficultly sourcing some rather simple parts. Looking for the assistance of you guys to see if you know where I can purchases these.

I have looked and contacted all the standard places so far (Strapworks, Seattle Fabrics, etc.), done plenty of Google searches, forum searches, etc. and turned up nothing.

I am looking for a 1" loop, 1.5" loop, and a 1" to 1.5” reducer. Willing to order in reasonable quantity’s, BUT must be stainless steel, aluminum, or titanium, and preferably coated in a matt black finish. See below for rough drawings.

Notes:
-If Al I would most likely want the metal a bit thicker.
-Greatly prefer round stock as opposed to flat.
-I have been able to find SS 1 and 1.5" metal loops, but their "D" dimension was way too big.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

While I haven't stopped by a marine supply store, I have checked out the websites of various company's (fisheries supply, West Marine, etc.) and haven't found anything. I was really hoping they would sell that sort of thing for soft top boats, but if they do I haven't dug it up yet.

Any other ideas?

James,

I searched through my "bucket of hardware" without luck and also dead ended on the internet search.

Looks like plastic 1" loops and plastic 2" to 1" reducers are possible but that's about it.

Not a lot to work with in this area.

Sometimes Seattle Fabric will have unusual stuff in their store because they bought out someone. You have to visit the store to check it out, however, and you better buy all you need because it probably will not show up again within the lifetime of most DIYers.

Daryl, Ken, and David;

Thank you for the assistance, I really appreciate you guys looking though your stuff and doing internet searches.

I have stopped by Seattle Fabrics and pawed through what they have, and didn't find much. When I questioned the girl behind the counter if they had other stuff they could order in or have some custom hardware made up she just shook her head. Frustrating, I am trying to find someone that will accept the money I am trying to throw at them.

The issue with the loops shown in the two links above is they are 1"x.5" or 1.5" x .5". I need 1" x 0.2" and 1.5" x 0.2".

I have looked though the outdoor, marine, and military/gun sports suppliers I can think of, I just keep wondering if there is some other market segment I should look at.

Thanks again guys.

Find a welder and have them fabricate them from stainless wire.

Or use standard plated steel and replace frequently.
