Has anyone seen these "Small Foot" brand inflatable snowshoes? from the website, it appears they are serious gear, and not a toy. I should make clear I have no affiliation. I don't even think I want a pair, but it certainly ingenious. Anyone here know any more about these?
Thanks for sharing, These are different. Bulgarian snowshoes. Isn’t the internet wonderful?
Something about crampons next to something that can go POP! doesn't appeal. Toward the end of a day of snowshoeing fatigue sets in and snowshoes much narrower than those start to overlap when I'm not giving them my full attention.
Although I would love to see a video of someone schuessing down a slope on a pair once the crampons are removed.
If you were light enough you could run across streams.
So http://www.airlitesnowshoe.com claims to have invented these. They've got nothing on the bulgarians in terms of website design though. Think, 1997. Anyway, here's the picture. $220 for a set and they claim to be very, very puncture resistant
And for the bulgarians, here's a video that's worth a look. They have several on their site of hard use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLLIL1nf8-4&feature=share
