So if you want bug protection than you have to have the tarp up? That is what I am seeing isn't it?

A tarp makes a hammock warmer too. If you do get an overnight sprinkle, the water will go right to your backside without a tarp. The tarp keeps the needles and bird poo off you too.

Speaking of warmth, like so many hammock manufacturer's, bottom insulation isn't included. Any hammock used for sleeping in North America needs and insulation system.

WHY, WHY, WHY can't someone build a hammock with integrated insulation? It is SO STUPID!!!!

Note that they don't use tree straps either. The shame!

Sigh…..

I like the hooks to hold the hammock out of the way for sitting under. I use a hex tarp, so adding a couple mitten hooks and a bit of line will be easy and give two lash points. All I would need to do is loosen the whoopie slings.

Spoken like a Washingtonian. I live in CA. Plenty of warm clear nights with no need for a roof. I doubt that the tarp adds any warmth unless it has doors and is pitched near the ground.

From the website "The Nubé is designed to be compatible with any camping hammock*"

So not really a complete system. Any camping hammock huh? Lets see a Clark, or a bridge under there.

"So I am enthralled with this hammock. It has a cool factor that does not exist with the other hammocks."

Does not mean that it works. Also very pricy considering you still need to add in the hammock.

Silnylon fly and no mention of seam sealing.

How much does it weigh? As for the gear storage gimmick. I just clip my pack to the suspension, and under the tarp. Once you are in camp how much stuff is left in your pack?

Can only set the tarp up one way.

Never been wet in my Hennessey.

I wish them success. My wallet stays closed for this one.

$275 dollars for a tarp and bug net that can only be pitched one way, and need each other to be used. Then add their recommended hammock for another $85+. Plus shipping.

It's your money…

Certainly in the right direction. For 3 season use I would just have an asym quilt sewn to the bottom under the user. No way you would want to heat all that space with your body.

Dale,
I haven't used one yet (saving my pennies), but I don't think it's all that much space to heat up. More like a suspended sleeping bag. I think the pics are deceptively large looking. I have used peapods with no trouble at all, though.

Wasn't there a hammock-tent-combo few years ago introduced by a big player?
Columbia? Can't find it now.
