I thought it was hilarious and well written, full of clever innuendo without being vulgar. I'm surprised and really disappointed that you feel this way.

Yes, to others, criminals were sent to Australia in the early days, but most of them were in the Army Corps guarding the poor convicts (7 years for stealing one loaf of bread) and in what passed for a local administration. The army corps became known as the Rum Corps, because that was what they traded in. We also had the amusing episode at one stage where different powers-that-be were trying to indict each other.

Fast forward a couple of hundred years, and we have a (NSW) State government which has not got any more honest. The level of corruption among government ministers is still amazing. Even more amazing is the fact that some of the (ex) government guys still (apparently) think that helping another member of the State government rip off close to $120M in a land/coal deal was perfectly OK.
So Australians tend to be a bit casual about authority. Or cynical.
Live with it.

As an attempt to get us back on track, here is what the dictionary says regarding the word 'fetish':
