I don't know much about portable projectors, but my criteria is this.

1. DVD, portable
2. Good quality, doesn't have to be OMG! look at that quality, just decent.
3. Price, around $300.00 or less.
4. Use for outside movies in my backyard, and inside the house.

Help me out guys/gals

Thanks, Jack

If you google "pocket projector" you'll get a ton of hits for various models.

What if you took this backpacking and projected a movie on the side of a huge granite boulder?

Thanks everyone for your response.

I've looked at a lot on the web, but they're kind of confusing, I'm not sure what lumens I need or picture quality i.e. 850×350 or higher, what would be the least I could get by with and still be good, I'm not looking for home theater quality per say, like those $1000.00 units, just enough to be good veiwing for the family and friends on movie night outside.

Thanks, Jack

Playing discs directly in the same projection device is the more expensive way to go. If you had the files in your phone or i pod/whatever you would only need the projector. This would be much smaller and less expensive. PM Doug Ide. He does show movies while backpacking.
