Anyone interested in joining me on a 4 day loop of the Lost coast (northern Cal) Friday Oct 4 thru Monday Oct 7.
I'll be starting Friday afternoon at the end of Smith-Etter Road and following the Kings Crest down to Cooskie Creek.
Day 2 is a 10 mile hike along the coast to Miller Flat. Day 3 continues down the coast then climbs Buck Creek trail to Maple Camp.
Day 3 is a hard one at 12 mile and 4k of climbing. Day 4 is 11 miles along the Kings Crest back to the car.
Weather and tides look favorable.
Here is a map (change the base map to Esri Topo):

Have a great time Marty. The weather has been great. If you fine three keys on a ring in Maple Camp they are mine. They're for the Van. That was a surprise when I got back to it.

Thanks Ken. I'll look for your keys.
My hope now is that with the government shutdown the BLM does not lock the gate on the Smith-Etter Road because I'd like to start at the Spanish Ridge trailhead.

King's Peak Rd. is a freeway compared to Smith-Etter. Would not take longer at all if you had to come up from the south.

Ken, I was up there 3 weeks ago and didn't see any keys… :(
