Is anyone else troubled by this?
I am getting frustrated about paying to have such a slow website and forum.
When I go to other sites backpacking.net/bbs it is much faster?
Or do we need an upgrade in the server?Jun 5, 2007 at 7:48 pm #1391306Brian BarnesBPL Member
Alan, For what it is worth, the site is working just fine on my end. BrianJun 5, 2007 at 8:05 pm #1391307Doug JohnsonBPL Member

Huh- works great for me. Sometimes when opening a large doc on BPL while running my music server and listening to tunes or downloading can cause a very slight delay (mainly with images) but typically it's instantaneous.
I'm running a reasonably fast machine with fast cable…
At work I'm on a slow machine with a T1. That's a little slower but still not bad.

No problem at all browsing BPL's website with my Dell laptop (4-5 years old) and wireless broadband, even with numerous additional programs running in the background.
