Well, yes, but this is Gear DEALS, not an open marketing channel.
What special discount or other DEAL are you offering to BPL members to justify having this promo here?Roger Caffin

Backpacking LightJun 14, 2013 at 4:49 pm #1996746Does it come with our choice of beer?
(Just HAD to ask!)Jun 14, 2013 at 4:56 pm #1996752Everyone please pack those glass bottles back out.
I haven't found a single layer of reflectix to be any good at keeping things cold for long. 35 minutes so for my hot things
rehydrating.
What's the temp claim here?
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:27 pm #1996759I gave up about 10 year ago carrying beer on trips, only carry top shelf drinks since then.
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:40 pm #1996761Good thing its double walled…and it keeps em cold for hours. Throw a frozen water bottle in there and it'll keep it cold all day long. At 3.4 oz its worth the weight for a cold beer in camp.
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:46 pm #1996762Hey Rog-
A discounted price and free shipping.
I guess you didn't watch the vid.
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:46 pm #1996763David,
Will you carry the 4 bottles of beer for me?
Only joking :-)
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:50 pm #1996764Seems like BPL doesn't want me sharing gear deals. We'll kill it.
Not here to break the rules. Thought I'd share a deal.
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:53 pm #1996766David,
Can you at least repost the link to the vid, since I can't find this thing on your site?
Jun 14, 2013 at 5:55 pm #1996767David,
I am only kidding, I would use this on overnighters, its just on most trips my pack is heavy enough.
Plenty of folk on here will be interested.
Jun 14, 2013 at 6:07 pm #1996768What is the deal?
Free shipping, buy one get one, what?Jun 14, 2013 at 6:19 pm #1996774del
Jun 14, 2013 at 6:44 pm #1996779Thanks Rick.
We've got some people that are interested in doing reviews for their blogs. We'll let that info come back around on a more organic route.
The cooler rocks and I was excited to share a deal with BPL members. Many of you have used our other products. Thanks. The info is out there.
Roger…sorry for not being more specific.
Jun 15, 2013 at 1:54 am #1996847Hi david
Oh, it's OK if there is some sort of deal offered, but you need to put the offer in the posting, not in a video. That's all.
Cheers
Roger CaffinJun 15, 2013 at 9:57 am #1996899Just put your product promotion in the Gear forum, along side Caffin's tunnel tent promotion. See here on how to promote products on BPL:
Free marketing on BPL is simply a matter of posting on the right forum.

Who moderates the moderator?
Jun 15, 2013 at 1:32 pm #1996926"Just put your product promotion in the Gear forum, along side Caffin's tunnel tent promotion."
Don't want to accuse you of being sarcastic when I don't know for sure, but yes, that's exactly the point. If David had posted what he posted, word for word, in "Gear," there would have been no issue at all. New gear, cool.
But if you post in gear deals, you have to be offering some kind of deal. Seems fair. Now, David was offering a deal, it just wasn't clear from his post (you had to watch the vid to see that a deal was being offered). You can't really expect the moderator to go look at vids to see whether or not a deal was being offered.
Instead of deleting his post, David could have simply added the deal in the post language and there wouldn't have been any issue at all.
In the end, Roger did what he's supposed to do as a moderator, David made an inadvertent error by not posting the deal in the post (he is offering one, so he posted in the right place). Nothing really wrong on either end. So I'm hoping this doesn't turn into yet another mudslinging thread for no real reason.
And I can't wait to get my coolers and try them out. They shipped today.
Jun 15, 2013 at 6:25 pm #1996999Well said!!!
Jun 15, 2013 at 6:40 pm #1997009Hey – Somebody link me to some info on this cooler please.
Thanks.
Jun 15, 2013 at 6:45 pm #1997014Jun 15, 2013 at 6:47 pm #1997016I'll need two – or do you offer an 8-bottle version? Nice looking product. Great for long drives (I keed; I keed).
Jun 16, 2013 at 5:37 am #1997094I still see the ad, but I don't see the deal.
not sure why i need a light beer cooler though. I don't drink light beer.Jun 16, 2013 at 7:54 am #1997112And sill the deal is not posted in the forum. I'm not going to watch the video. It's a cooler I get that. So what's the deal?
Jun 16, 2013 at 2:43 pm #1997222$25 free shipping, after the promotion is over $30 plus shipping.
Jun 16, 2013 at 3:08 pm #1997229Link, you're such an enabler for us GGG types (Gear Gathering Geeks). I just e-mailed David about buying 2 of them for $45. I can't let Doug get an edge on me.
