Red, sticky cough syrup all over an Osprey Kestrel pack..
Any ideas on how to get this off?

    Soak it in hot water?

Cough syrup is mostly sugar– I's just use a little diluted dishsoap and a damp rag.

I have had good luck with rubbing alcohol to remove tree sap and melted candy from my hammock so it may work for your pack as well.

Thanks. I will try a couple of option. Unfortunately it seeped into the seams…

I would think that even a warm water soak would be enough to remove the syrup. The food coloring probably won't adhere to the fabric and the sticky residue should be freed from the seams with sufficient soak time and a little agitation.

Too long of a soak in warm to hot soapy water will be bad for the fabric's waterproofing coating. A nice warmish water rinse should get it.

Use a tooth brush to gently scrub and get into the seams and you should be fine. Once dry sprinkle some dust on it to keep any remaining syrup from sticking. If you're adverse to the dust idea, maybe you should be leaving the city with that pack in the first place ;)

Got met of it off with soapy warm water, thanks.
