I have a hip belt with a foam pad that detaches. I'd like to use it without the foam, but that leaves the hook velcro on the belt exposed, so my thought was to line it with 3D mesh. Thru-hiker's description of of 3D mesh is, "a laminate product consisting of a fabric side, a thin padding, and a mesh." Is the fabric side velcro compatible, i.e. could I buy some, trim to shape, and stick it directly to the belt? If not, do you have any suggestions for what to use as a liner?
The sort of zipper you'd want for a pack pocket–two sliders, goes two ways, doesn't separate–do I have to make that myself, b/c "2-way non-separating zipper" doesn't turn up much.
