Hi gang,

I'm looking to purchase some Camo silnylon, 1.3oz wt preferred. I've checked the usual suspects (SF, OWF, Thru Hiker, RW) and all they have are solids. The camo prints are uncoated and in 1.9 oz.

Does anybody have any other suggestions for where I can find this?

The purpose is for a tarp in a hammock system.

Thank you for your time.

Edit: yes, I have searched and hadn't seen any threads from past couple years. I found the following prior threads helpful:

Slight correction to what Chris said – LightHeart Gear will have camo silnylon shortly; In about 30 days or so. We will offer yardage for sale on the website and will be making tents from it. The weight is about 1.4 oz/sq yd and it has a HH over 3500mm. It's woodland camo – there is a picture of it up on the website http://www.lightheartgear.com and on facebook. The picture is much brighter than the fabric really is. We are having this fabric custom made to our specs.

When I saw your post, it reminded me of a thread I had read on making your own silnylon out of regular 1.1 oz ripstop.

Of course, it depends on how much time you want to put into it, and as was already pointed out, it will be available shortly without having to go to the trouble of making your own.

Hey Nate this is Kyle from RipstopbytheRoll.com. I’ve actually been working on getting a suitable camo silnylon for a few months now and finally have the first run in production. It’s going to be a 1.2 oz (1.3-1.4oz after coating) custom print woodland camo silnylon with an HH around 1500 mm. Should be set to ship in about 3 weeks.

I developed this camo sil to try and solve the very problem you mentioned. I wanted camo sil for a hammock tarp and everything out there now is some combination of too heavy, too expensive, not ripstop nylon, and/or PU coated. Hoping to bring some other patterns on line as well in the next few months. Hope everything is coming along nicely with your tarp project.
