Good stuff and you have shelter, rain gear, insulation covered. I would carry a better compass and maps, a firesteel and  some sort of small knife or multi-tool.

Your list looks great. I will say that I don’t find 25 feet of bear bag line sufficient, I find 50 feet better. I have only done a couple trips in the rocky mountains but I would bring rain pants for hiking out there. For the high sierras, not that important unless its early or late season.

Yeah…well, if you’re hiking in the National Parks in the Sierra, you can add some weight for an approved bear can.

And what, exactly, is in a FAK that weighs 0.75 ounces?  An aspirin?

For firestarting I do have a bic and matches. A small swiss army knife is included

The rain pants can be a good add in the rockies as the summer monson can bring days of many storm cells, so many it’s worth it.

The bear can I hope to hell gets approved is the hunny bear can. The difference between a bear bag setup and the large 700cuin can is only 10oz. That’s so so awesome.

The 1oz med kit can be paired down to .75 by just bringing less. The one ounce kit has luekotape onto silicon release paper, gauze, 2 anitdiarrheal, 2 clean wipes, 8 Ibuprofen, 3 antihistamine, one 3-in-1 sachet. Yeh, maybe I shouldn’t cut that down anymore. :)

Nice list. I have a few questions:

• Where do you find the silicon release paper for your leukotape?  How does it work for you compared to moleskin?
• Did you get John at Borah Gear to throw on a hood on the down jacket? Ever since I’ve been looking at them, they’ve always been hoodless. And extra fill too?
• How easy was it to cut down your sleeping pad?

I work for a shipping company, so the silicon release paper is all over the place. Go to a FedEx Office and ask for one. I asked John at Borah if he would! His jacket person has since retired and he’s looking for a new one. No extra fill to the jacket, just added fill for the hood. I havent cut a pad yet, I’ve been too lazy, but I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
