Pray tell, what is the average shelf life of denatured alcohol — SLX brand if that makes any difference? I store my supply at room temperature in the plastic bottles that pharmacy rubbing alcohol is sold in.

I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, if denatured alcohol "went bad," how would you tell? If you think that your denatured alcohol is even beginning to go bad, then that means that you need to get out more.
For reference, I go through about a gallon per year.

Came across a container in the garage that has been there for six years. Still just fine. My guess is that properly stored fuel has an almost indefinite shelf life. Like white gas. That stuff seems to last forever.
