So I bought a Bare Boxer Contender for Ss&Gs. Just got it yesterday. I was actually surprised at the size – I could, I believe, easily fit 5-6 days worth of food in this thing. Maybe a bit more if I was careful how I packed.
I really liked the instructions that came with the thing, though. Lighthearted without being stupid, which I appreciate. For example:
If a Bear gets its paws on your container, keep your paws off. It's his and he won't let you have it back. So don't bother trying, unless you want your friends to call you "lefty". Eventually the Bear will get tired of trying to open the container and stop playing with it. If you are lucky, he won't toss it into a bush or roll it down a hill for you.
and
While minor scratches generally won't affect its utility, avoid the temptation to carve your name into the canister. Bears have been known to Google campers who carry tasty food. You don't want them to know where you live.
and my favorite
Most any key will open the container …. Don't leave your keys out where a Bear can find them.
