Hi,
I have just read that catnip essential oil is more effective as mosquito and other bugs repellant than DEET is. I have read that it is 10 times more effective than DEET?! Does anyone have any experience with it?
I am desperately looking for a natural solution for bugs. Bugs love me to death. Does anyone use anything natural that seems to work? Citronella does not work for me.
Thank you.

You're making me shudder. I've already spent one long night with a cougar that wanted to hang out at my campsite all night.

Sorry, no tips. I just try to cover all my skin. A sun hat with a cape or a really big bandana can help, although I've had mosquitoes bite through where the bill meets the top of the cap.

One study found that, on the skin, catnip isn't as effective as DEET:

"We conclude that catnip oil and nepetalactone isomers are significantly less effective than deet or SS220 in deterring the biting of Ae. aegypti."
