I'm new to this forum (and UL in general) and miss the "sticky" posts that hover on top of the thread lists on other forums. Often times there is one sticky with a bunch of classic threads from that forum that are considered must-reads. Surely you have some of these bookmarked in your Internet browser. I suppose I could ask this in any sub-forum on BPL but it seems like the other sub-forums discuss questions that are either too specific or too philosophical for everyone to benefit from. So, without further ado,

What are your favorite "must-read" threads from MYOG?

Here are mine to start us off:

Trekking pole camera mount using a single rubber band:

Waterproof zippered rain suit for under 5oz and $10: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/forums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=64670&skip_to_post=560063#560063

My favorite was cutting off the bottom third of a gallon milk jug to make the lightest, largest and cheapest possibly bowl.

What should have been asked in this thread is how many threads do you have on your watched threads list.

My watched threads list totals out at 43 as of now. :-)

Pretty much all of them are geared towards MYOG. Go figure! L O L

It is how and where I "bookmarked" threads to avoid adding to my mile long list of bookmarks on my GC browser.

Party On,

Any other ones out there? In my new-found excitement for ultralight backpacking, I added WAY too many bookmarks on my browser and now have no idea which are any good anymore.. Overzealousness killed the backpacker..

For great threads on this site, for which there are many, I prefer to click the 'WATCH THIS THREAD' option at the top of the thread. Then if you go to 'view my profile' you can see all the threads that you 'bookmarked'. I have too many to list.

My browser bookmarks are mostly gear vendors and a couple blogs.
