U.S. denatured etoh for stove use?

I'll add my agreement to Don's comments.

SLX is my first choice followed by Heet (yellow bottle). Third choice is 190 proof Everclear (available in Oregon) that is also multi-use … but expensive.

In my stoves Everclear and KleenStrip Green do not burn as clean as SLX or Heet–they leave a slight residue of soot on the bottom of the kettle (or sides of Backcountry Boiler.

Side note: I gave up on Esbit a number of years ago (nasty smell/chemical deposits–particularly if you ever use it inside a tarp shelter in bad weather).

PS For anyone that uses HEET I'd suggest you get a dispensing cap from Zelph.
