Attaching bivy to Tarp

I use the tiny size S-biner. Easier for cold hands

Edit: Opens a bear canister also.

Snip part of the mitten hook off so it's just the hook, no clasp. Easy on, easy off, probably as secure?

+1 on the easy use S-Biner! It really makes guy lines & tarps, bug shelters/bivies hook up quick and easy to the tarp.

I love BPL and the collective knowledge that we all get to tap into. I like both suggestions of the S Biner and the cut hook. However, I think the cut hook is ingenious and definitely is a quick/simpler attachment and should stay in place just fine considering the tension that will be placed on it at all times with the shock cord stretched. Below is a picture after making the cut to remove the unnecessary and very stiff plastic gate.

I too have cut the plastic hooks down a few times and they have all ways broke over time. The S-Biner is metal and is better for the long run(IMHO). The quick two-way connection is great for guylines with the bug shelters & bivys. My S-Biners ways in at 4 grams and what is wrong with few extra grams? Quality over quantity!
