I'm considering taking a pair of pants with this finish on a trip where there will likely be ticks. I'm concerned about messing up the finish as well as whether it will actually penetrate the fabric. I use permethrin on my shoes,the tops of my socks, nylon shirt and pants as well as other gear but thought about it twice when it comes to this finish. Obviously I can opt to take reg. nylon pants, but was just curious.
Appreciate any input.
Permethrin will degrade the DWR. I would use it only on my base layers and skip the outerwear.
That's what I was wondering. I'll keep the DWR pants for cooler, rainy weather, not sure I'll need base layers during the day on this trip.
