It's a rather old design and rather heavy.

However … it might be a good source for parts for anyone wanting to experiment! Not 'free parts', but very close.

I have the stove, bought it when it was on ebay for less than $10. It works good so far. Weighs around 3oz without the plastic case that it comes in.

Decent for the price, it's a blow torch but can simmer too.

Yes, but does the vendor know the difference?

Anyhow, propane fittings have a very different thread and fitting from that one. The thread and fitting you can see are the standard 7/16" screw thread reserved for butane/propane mixes.

I have this stove, one great thing about it is the vertical position for the flame, this is crucial on small narrow pots.

It also seems to be very fuel efficient because of this. Ive ran 6 4oz canisters through it and its held up fine. built in ignitor is very convienient.

I'm almost wanting to try out the second one on my narrow SP Trek 700 mug and see if it performs better than the LiteMax. Heck, even gut the ignitior and see how light you could get it.

Can anyone comment on the fuel efficiency of the stove? Does it have a cheap price because it gobbles fuel? How stable are the pot stands?

Just bought one of these for $8.40 shipped. Will let everyone know how it compares to the Snow Peak LiteMax. Plan to gut the piezo ignighter and compare the fuel consumption. Will be testing this with cheap-o Coleman 250 cans from Walmart and a Snow Peak Trek 700 pot.

Please let us know how it performs compared to the SP litemax, the only thing about this stove is the weight is higher than it could be… (4oz with case).

i just pulled the trigger on this one, at 6 0z and $16
sold on the idea of a remote that i can use w/ my kids or a small group, and when wanting to simmer etc…and being able to use a propane bottle with it while car camping or going Heavy [using the kovea adapter]

I can honestly simmer very well with the $10-$15 one in the original post. I have had to lube up the legs with some olive oil once but other than that I love its performance. It weighs exactly 4oz with the orange plastic case.

I have the same stove, had to file one of the pot supports to level it out, but it seems to be a decent stove. Really cranks on high, but can simmer well too.
