I recently picked up a DuoMID, being my first UL shelter. Part of the package was a Golite adjustable pole. The pole seems quite solid for the task, but on the heavy side at 11oz. I'm not a big fan of trekking poles so looking for a recommendation of a suitable pole(s) to pitch my mid. I read another thread of utilizing two trekking poles w/extenders for the inverted V setup. That's the way I would like to go, but without the trekking poles of course. The length looks like 66" for the proper pitch. Mostly 3 season usage.
Zpacks has some carbon poles in custom lengths for a good price (and weight). Will these be strong enough? Stick with aluminum? Any recommendations or insight would be great.
