    Hello KalebC,
    >how fast is the boil? Let's say 16oz of H2o

    Water Boil Test
test the boil time for 16oz( about 500ml ). of water on a Solid-fuel( Esbit ) Micro-size Rocket Stove.

    room temperature: about 17C( 63F ).
    starting temperature with 10C( 50F ).
    about 10 minutes: 95C( 203F )boil.

Seems like an awful lot of structure for an Esbit burner. What would be the advantages of this over a windscreen and a little three legged folding burner/pot support? Boil time is no improvement over one of those. Might take longer.

But it looks so cool! I guess it burns wood too, but yea rather bulky.

That may not be more efficient in terms of time to boil, but does it use less fuel?

Regardless, that is excellent. I love your use of insulation to help raise the internal temperature of the flame and chimney.

Can you handle the outside of the stove when it is burning or is it too hot to touch?

VERY cool. Keep fiddling with it, it is a really fascinating idea.

    Tokyo Joeさんこんにちは!
    野外だと水平で硬い面がないので、安定性が厳しいように思いました。でも面白いと思います。

    Hi Tokyo Joe,
I think need more stability. Because it's difficult to find flat hard place in the trail.
    But your gear is interesting.

This stove is using the 4 gram esbit cubes. The boil time for for 500ml of water with this stove is about the same as I get when using a 14gram esbit cube with my titanium caldera cone and 900ml pot. Isn't this pretty darn impressive performance? Especially considering that the 4 gram esbit strips have an advertised burn time of 5 minutes? Very cool.
