I have decided to make my own gravity filter using a sawyer 3-way inline, I see most people use 2 Platypus 3L big zips but I see I can buy Platypus GravityWorks Clean Stream reservoir replacement kits cheaper and they hold more volume, will these do and I am guessing I will also need to purchase a CleanStream hose kit along with it?

Anyone? Insight, please
See the link below for a thread with photos of my MYOG setup. My problem with the big zips is that the weight of the plastic ‘zip’ is quite heavy. Instead, I cut out the bottom of my 2L and use that as a scoop.
I used an older 2L platypus and the hose from a 70oz Hoser. My dad had an additional cap with the nipple on it but you can purchase them from Arrowhead Equipment.
I used a water bag so that I only had to make one trip to the water source.

There was quite a long discussion on here a bout a year back about other MYOG gravity filters.
Enjoy,
Dave
Do you happen to have the link to it?
Here is what David is talking about I think.
