My best day after a doc visit is when the doc tells me, "whatever you're doing, keep doing it." So I do, or at least keep trying.

As for Laurie Ann "wondering if one of these articles should be about diabetic friendly food on the trail" — that would be great!

I agree with Richard Laurie…some diabetic food articles would be awesome!

And that's pretty much the best we can do. I'm very fortunate that I have an amazing team between my family doc, the eye specialist, and my endocrinologist. That's so important, I find. All three know that I work hard. It was so difficult at first but now I find that all of these little things (glucose testing 8 times a day, keeping records, testing heart rate and BP, reading labels, balancing meals) are second nature. I do figure it all adds up to about 1 hour of my day.
