I agree Wayne that would be neat. But that's not where I see AEG going the company Is focused on sul/xul no frivolous features that add weight only what's needed. Thus explaining why the jackets will be pocketless 1/2 zips. I also have a cuben jacket with tyvec sides for breathability in the works this should come in at about 2.5 ounces and I am hoping the tyvec in the armpit sections will help with the breathability.

Personally, I don't think pit zippers are even needed….at least in some cases. I have an old Izod jacket from a second hand store with open pits. Just a slit like hole in the pits. No zips. I love it. Simple, effective and saves weight.

William, i really am liking the direction you are heading with this jacket. The tyvec is a great idea for breathability. I have been considering making something like this but i have a different idea for the pit area. I was considering putting a triangular patch or rectangular strip of nanoseeum in the armpit area. Maximum breathability and i feel being under the arm it would not compromise the waterproofness of this jacket. Would just need to play with how big of a piece you could get away with.

I am looking forward to seeing some of your other creations. I have some plans ive started for a solo cubin double wall shelter that is well under a pound and is multi use. I might be willing to share those plans if interested. They are far from finished plans but on its way.

I thought about using mesh but the seams never held real well something like m90 would work real well I think

Are you glueing or sewing your seams? Good to know there is an issue with putting tyvek and nano together.

Currently im sewing them with a double sewn French seam I most likely will switch to a flat felled seam to maximize the potential of the tyvec. I am also going to experiment with using hysol to glue tyvec to cuben if that works the cuben rain jacket will be bonded everywhere but the collar and arm holes. It will most likely be next year before I bring the cuben/tyvec hybrid jacket to the market the normal tyvec stuff should debut late November
