Curious if you guys saw the new Ohm 2.0 on ULAs website. They don't have pics up yet, but they do have a description. I might have to sell my circuit and upgrade to the Ohm 2.0

"The Ohm 2.0 is exactly like the original Ohm, except it uses the same hipbelt system as our larger packs and with only a few ounces of weight penalty. Also the carbon fiber and delrin suspension frame has been moved to the inside of the pack."

The circuit/catalyst hipbelt has been my favorite hipbelt when carrying loads b/n 20-30lbs. Perfectly padded (not too much, not too little) and the dual angle adjustment straps really allow you to dial it in without crushing your hips. It's the only design that hasn't given my sore/bruised hips, while still effectively transferring weight.

Today is my birthday! …Now as a present to myself, I just have to figure out what my next pack will be: Ohm 2.0, Zpacks Exos, or MLD Exodus S?

Well, since it's your birthday, get all three. lol.

And Happy Birthday!

Thanks for posting this. At 28.7oz, it splits the difference between the Ohm (22.6oz) and the Circuit (36oz). I'm not sure what I think about this pack. 6oz is a lot of weight to gain, so buyers should be pretty sure they really prefer the more robust hipbelt. I think most UL'ers are still going to be better off with the regular 22.6oz Ohm. The regular Ohm is awesome for 30 lbs or less and I've used mine to 40 lbs with some discomfort. The Ohm 2.0 seems like it's really for people who either really like ample hipbelts (ie. my wife), or are consistently pushing the weight limits of the Ohm, but don't want a 36oz Circuit. If you're normally 30 lbs or less then I'd opt for the original Ohm, and if you're getting to 40 lbs then you'd probably want to look at the Circuit.

i currently have a circuit. But i've never needed the space that it provides. The main reason i got it over the Ohm was for the hip belt, and increased comfort. So, this OHM 2.0 might be the pack for me. The ULA Facebook page said that new pics would be uploaded soon.

I was set on the circuit as a new pack to fit the dual role of bear canister trips and winter trips, but with a beefier hip belt, I may be able to get away with the Ohm 2.0. For a 3 day winter trip my total weight is right around 30 lbs. Decisions, decisions…

I have been happy with my Ohm with the early hipbelt and the removable pockets. I had a Circuit and found the hipbelt does not breath and I was always hot wearing it.

A lot of changes since Brian has gone.

The Ohm is pretty comfortable because it doesnt have that big velcro patch that makes a slight bump on your lower back that you can feel.

Packs are most comfortable anyway with the hipbelt all the way at the bottom.

I know they must get a lot of requests for different belts, changing them, etc which drove this , but the wt gain is pretty severe.

You need to weigh a circuit and not go by the wt on the website. My medium with small hipbelt, if you remove the foam backpad and aluminum stay, (and other removable stuff) weighs about 29.8 oz with only the carbon fiber stay. My OHM weighs 22.3 oz. I like the drawstring closure better, and the compression better on the Ohm, but if you put a heavy 8.5oz hipbelt, there would be little real difference between the Ohm 2.0 and circuit weightwhen you strip the circuit down to an equal basis

I had no idea that the Circuit weighed so little with the backpanel and stay removed. It makes the Ohm2.0 and the circuit within 1 ounce of one another. I know the original Ohm had a pad holster…does it's listed weight include the weight of a pad? Just trying to get an accurate comparison, because the stripped weight of the Circuit you mentioned, is without any padding I presume? Thanks

I know that there was at least some angst on the original Ohm belt, that was changed and I've heard little to no complaints on the "new" belt. I'm with Dan, unless your weight is outside the range of the "regular" Ohm, I think the belt is fine as is.

The Circuit has an aluminum stay, the Ohm and Ohm 2 don't- if the loads are on the heavier side I'd opt for the Circuit for this reason

I guess the torso adjustment might come in handy for some, with the 'regular" Ohm offered in three sizes it should accommodate the most folks already

nice that they are offering choices, but I don't see a Ohm 2 in my future

what I'd like to really see is a Ohm 0.5, a 25-30 liter-ish Ohm for weekend trips that weighs in at a pound or less

at least for the medium pack /small belt combo, the circuit wt on website seems to be off. it may be for large pack with large hipbelt or something.

the foam backpanel in my medium weighs (2 layers) weighs 1.92 oz, it isnt really needed without the big Al stay, and if you use a ccf pad inside against back , it can be removed. It is actually there to keep that al stay from being hard against your spine in the center of your back. (You can still feel it though some if not bent to fit well) . I like it better without the al stay, or backpanel foam, with a folded GG torso eva torso pad inside against the back.

the circuit listed weight w/o al stay and removeable stuff is 36 oz. My carbon fiber stay is 1.49 oz. I dont know where they got the 1.2 oz they list. (the carbon fiber stay in my ohm is 1.6 oz!) I removed all the removable stuff , including compression cord (0.65 oz, not needed when dont stuff sleeping bag in stuffsack) and expected it to weigh about 32 oz, it weighs 28.3 oz. So listed wt seems to be off by about 3.6 oz or so.

just going by memory, but I recall weighing the hipbelt w/pockets when I first got it and it weighed 8.5 oz I think.

if you wanted to make a basic webbing hipbelt for a circuit when using in stripped down mode for say 15 lb loads, you could probably get the pack weight easily down to 22-23 oz before trimming.

Mike, isn't that basically the CDT? Or do you mean with some kind of internal frame?

My Ohm 2.0 arrived yesterday. Very nice indeed! Yes, it picked up a couple of ounces, but I love the Circuit/Catalyst belt and am happy to have it on my Ohm. Very comfortable, thank you!

I was in the market for a new Ohm because I've lost over 15 lbs and my large/large hipbelt just doesn't fit any more. The Ohm 1.0 will shortly be up in the Gear Swap column!

CDT- something w/ a light frame (ala Ohm) and even a little smaller (less volume)- a "mini" Ohm :)

^ your Ohm 1 shouldn't last too long in the For Sale section

Yes, please, pictures! This looks as though it might be my pack of the future!
