    Tried to add a pin for myself a few times, but can't see myself on the map yet. Maybe just needs time to update? Anyhow, I will keep an eye on it and make sure it worked. I will be the first person living in Scandinavia on the map :)

    My little dot in eastern nevada looks pretty lonely between the swarms of cali and colorado, even though my back yard is a national park. I think Great Basin is the least visited national park in the US…..ALL MINE

    @10-7

    It took a few minutes before the blue pin appeared. I'm not sure if that's because this is the first time I've used this google feature or not but just wanted to throw that out there in case someone else encounters this.

    Locale: North Woods. Far North.

    Four year later, and I'm STILL on the map.

    Alaska is way over-represented, per-capita on many fronts, such as: suicides, gun ownership, snow machine deaths, domestic violence, pilot's licenses, (low) population density, avalanche fatalities, (negative) taxation rates, bear attacks, Spam consumption (not really, we're second behind Hawaii), boating deaths, registered motor vehicles, and really stupid "reality" TV shows.

    So I checked how we were in BPL representation. 4 in Alaska (plus more that I know of, but they aren't on the map) versus 8 in my home town of San Francisco which, while 14,000 times smaller, is about the same population.

    So, apparently, like disco, shag carpet, non-smoking restaurants, acknowledgement of the 2008 and 2012 Presidential-election results, and acceptance of climate-change science; UL backpacking principles are taking many years longer to arrive up here.
