AK Granola:  I’ll grant that in my testing, I didn’t check for longevity of lemon eucalyptus repellent.  I do find that DEET lasts many hours in most cases.

In lieu of thick-enough gloves, use your spare socks as mittens in a pinch.  (Also good to remember in cold weather).
