There's a new kid on the block in ultralight and ultrastrong metals, and you might not expect where it comes from. It's called "Flash Bainite" and is a form of steel. Essentially, a DIYer in Detroit figured out a new method for creating steel by essentially breaking all the rules.

Granted, I don't have any fancy ideas on what to make with this at the moment, and since it's not available yet, no project to show you… but I wanted to make this information available to you guys who are a bit more creative at that sort of stuff to make plans.
