Has anyone used the Compack chair kit? In another thread someone threw this out there as a chair kit. At 6oz, I think it will become my luxury item with my book.

The reviews I have read on the REI site were not good at all. Anyone here use it? Any good?

Thanks

First version was not durable at all. The new version has served me well so far. The straps could be longer and the strap that goes across the pad should be a quick release. East enough to modify. Works with a ccf pad fine too.

Ken is right about the first version as being not well designed and less durable, I returned it to REI for a new one. The new one also now has a quick release buckle on the strap across the pad. On the first one I just cut the strap off as I didn't see a need for it and it was one of the weak points anyway. Now I think the strap helps in keeping everything more rigid.

I was looking at the Big Agnes Cyclone SL Chair Kit as well. Basically the same weight and had the same type of issues when they first came out. Price close to each other too.

Which would you recommend?

Will both take a POE Elite 6 2/3 pad and/or 20' Z-Rest foam pad?

I have the BA kit and I have not had any problems yet. FYI, actual weights came in at 5.5 oz. for the chair + .4 oz. for the mesh sack.

Ya, I weighed the same thing (BA Cyclone). Haven't used it yet except in the house. It'll do the job. Wish the Thermarest Lounge was lighter though. It is a treat after being on the trail.
