Here's my solution to tent tether points on carpet.*

Carpet Stakes

You are looking at a piece of flexible plastic carpet runner with pointy spikes on one side (pointy side goes against carpet). I used a paper punch to put a hole in one edge so I could attach a hook.

Here's a picture of the tent stake in action, with several gallons of water in a plastic jug holding it in place. A 30 pack of beer would probably work well also.

*If you anticipate high winds or heavy snow loads in your living room this stake may not work for you …….and you might consider moving to a different house.

I'm not married but when you get in trouble don't you just have to go sleep on the couch?

Now what is the solution for hardwood, tile, linoleum or other hard floors:-)

I guess gaffers tape?
Duct tape would leave sticky stuff behind.

Those no-slip carpet pads with some weight on them would do the same thing for hard floors.

Nails work for everything except tile.

Just kidding. I made six weighted stakes with some heavy cement retaining wall blocks. I used a masonry bit to drill a hole in them and then I epoxied a bent nail into them.

Old car inner tubing with a weight on top.
Or any other 'sticky' rubber sheeting.

Cheers

I just use bricks. I have 12 of them in my main bedroom.
Carpet stakes
With a single tie out line , I just insert the stake and put the brick on top of that

Franco, I think your brick would work. You probably don't get a big windstorm in your main bedroom.

Franco,

"I just insert the stake and put the brick on top of that"

Are you saying there is a stake lying on the floor, under the brick in the picture, that we can't see in the picture?

They think it's punishment, but really it's like camping.
Shhh, don't let out our secret…
