As mentioned, I would be more concerned with wind protection, and I always look at the extended weather forecast. If you are going to be gone for more than about 5 days, don't put too much faith in weather reports in the mountains.
At that time of year, I would not trust Dri Ducks. I have had two jackets that had serious zipper failures. Maybe it is me. I would go with something more substantial that you know will not fail. I have an Essence jacket and it has served me well so far. Wind pants will offer some rain protection for a short period of time, and an emergency trash bag could be helpful. But you could get some cold, driving rain and you will be very happy to have brought some "real" rain pants. At time of year I would bring rain pants.
