Anyone received their Backpacker Magazine yet?

I've been exchanging emails with Tanga for a few days now and today they've sent me basically the same email as they've sent you two, and I further pushed them into telling me WHO received the subscription – their clearing house or the publishers at Backpacker. They claim that Backpacker magazine is "processing my magazines" and I'll get them shortly – that Tanga doesn't know how or where the order got hung up, and that they're surprised that it happened.

I just called Backpacker's subscription department (1-800-666-3434 – I suggest you do as well) and they've not received any subscription information for me.

I'm now calling Tanga, so we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Can't find a phone number for Tanga (surprise). So I emailed them again. I think I spent $5.86 with Tanga and I couldn't care less about the money loss, but I'll not be pushed over or scammed.

I'm in the same boat….

After a final email with Tanga they sent an email telling me that they refunded my money – though it's not showing a pending transaction in my bank account at this moment, so we'll see tomorrow. I'll update then.

And 1 minute later I get another email from the same person "TangaBrad."

You should be getting the magazine in 4-6 weeks like I have stated.

I don't care at all about the subscription, but that money better show up soon.

Yeah, tanga is prompt in their refund….same day.

I paid what they charged and it was less than a sub through Backpacker. Why not?

If it was $10/year I'd have bought too, and thankfully they didn't have more of my money tied up into a false sale.

-So it seems like the problem was with Backpacker Magazine and not Tanga judging from this email

My money hasn't been refunded yet.
