Great headlamp for $23
Nov 8, 2010 at 7:43 am #1662151Man – I am tempted, but the 2011 version is so much better that I might have gear buyer remorse.
Nov 8, 2010 at 3:06 pm #1662287Why is the 2011 so much better.Did they upgrade them that much better if so What?
Thanks
ScottNov 8, 2010 at 3:30 pm #1662293the BD spots are 24$ canadian at altitude sports …
Nov 8, 2010 at 4:17 pm #1662305More durable hinges, additional LED for low light and a max of 75 lumens.
But that price on the current version is killer.
Nov 8, 2010 at 5:30 pm #1662327I bought 2 from SAC a while back when they had them for $19.99 each. They're fantastic. I have a Petzl XP2 also which I love, but the deal on the old model SPOTs are awesome.
The 2011s might be a fantastic light, but the old models are some of the best around for most users. You might get a 30% better model in 2011 but you'll be paying 200% more for it.
It was a great purchase for me, and I'd recommend it to anybody.
Nov 8, 2010 at 6:03 pm #1662338I picked up the old model Spot at a REI garage sale for 9.83 about a year ago. Its a much better light than the Gizmo it replaced. I'm liking the red leds on the newer model so maybe someone will return one this next spring for me to pickup at a great price and upgrade again.
Nov 10, 2010 at 11:26 am #1662901And couldn't be happier. Dimmer is a MUST HAVE, as is the lock-out feature and the red LEDs. For $40, its the best light under $60 on the market, IMO
Nov 13, 2010 at 5:08 am #1663838Bur watch the price of the 2nd one, if you are ordering 2…need to order separately to get $20.93 ea w shipping to store.
Nov 13, 2010 at 7:35 am #1663850Anybody see anything else interesting there?
Dec 26, 2010 at 2:51 pm #1677738My daughter just gave me one for Chrismas and it does not work. POS
Dec 26, 2010 at 2:53 pm #1677739Batteries in backwards?
Dec 26, 2010 at 3:03 pm #1677742Check the instructions for the lockout mode. You may have to hold the switch down for several seconds to "unlock" it.
Assuming the batteries are fresh. It is typical for lighting manufacturers to have regular sales as the batteries in the factory pack expire.
Dec 26, 2010 at 4:40 pm #1677769Sold out.
Dec 26, 2010 at 8:15 pm #1677821Seem like the have them on SAC once a day for $19.99.
Dec 27, 2010 at 6:30 am #1677876Here's the titanium color on Campsaver for $20.
