$2 570 X- Bionic Jacket.

I don't have a lot of experience with X Bionic but I did work at a retail store where the neighbouring shop sold X Bionic so on a few occasions I wandered over to try some of it on.

To cut to the point, it seemed like well made stuff but I found a lot of their claims extremely hard to believe. Like a tiny patch of thicker fabric that supposedly stores energy to keep you nice and warm should you need it, and then a few thinner patches that supposedly vent wonderfully so you never get hot etc. Other areas 'store sweat' that then gets 'turned into energy'. I did not test it out in real conditions so I can't reject their claims, but I'm extremely skeptical that the benefits are significant.

In live in a ski town (Whistler) where there is lots of people with too much money, who always looking for stuff to spend it on. In my opinion, X Bionic is decent gear with a huge dose of marketing hype so they can sell it to rich tourists for insane amounts of money. If you tell someone your stuff is the best and price it accordingly, these rich tourists will buy it because they don't care about price and they just want the best. If you've flown your family of 6 half way across the world and rented 3 hotel rooms at $500/night each, then a few hundred for a shirt is nothing. Some of the local shops carry Prada ski jackets that are even more expensive….$4000 rings a bell.

This looks like snake oil to me. Lots of production value without a lot of good information. I especially like the claim that he used 97% of his energy just to stay cool while running with the generic workout shirt.

My circulatory system is unburdened by eating healthy and exercising. I don't need $230 pants to do that. Maybe it's well made gear, but the two paragraphs above register a 10.5 on the BS scale. Lots of big words with awkwardly strung together vocabulary.

For $2570, the jacket better "hand wash" itself.

I couldn't find the jacket, but I did find a $40 sweatband that I guess turns me into Superman.
