So in theory the Haven top bag has been on the market for a while, but I haven't managed to find one in the flesh. Has anyone here used one and if so what do you think of it?

Looking at the specs, seems heavy and expensive for what you are getting. Heavy shell material,700 fill, you could find just as warm sleeping bags/quilts that are lighter for not much more money. That hood setup looks like it could be a pain to get out from under in a hurry. Just my initial impression
Well I picked one up 2 weeks ago for $129 shipped to my door brand new. Obviously this isn't your conventional bag. I put my neo-air short inside the bag with me as to seal up the open back of the bag. I own WM bags, a GOLite Ultra 20, and a couple upper end synthetic bags and I think for my solo summer/fall use this will be my go to bag. It combined with the neo air short inside makes for a very cozy cocoon for just 21 oz (measured on my scale after I took off the back straps used to connect it to a pad. I have no doubt it will keep me warmer than the GoLite Ultra 20 quilt (short model) that weighs almost exactly the same but doesn't have the hood. Granted the entry and exit isn't nearly as easy as any other bag or quilt I have owned, but that is something I am willing to sacrifice. My 5'9 155 lb frame is cozy but not too snug (able to roll over) with the pad inside the bag with me. I imagine any of the prolite models will fit inside th bag with no problems either if you aren't built too stout (being a bean pole like myself has its advantages sometimes). All in all I am pretty happy with the purchase but no way would I have paid what REI and other places want for it. Doing a 33 mile hike tomorrow and if I miss the bus to take me out of Denali Park then I'll be sleeping in it roadside until I can catch the next bus in the morning. ;)
Luke – I saw last month you sold your Haven in Gear Swap. After a few months with the Haven did your feelings change?
The Haven bags are being closed out and REI Outlet has them for $169 (regular size). Looks like the longs have already sold out.
I bought a couple. I can see them working for my wife and me. Have only tried them in the house, however, so I have no real feedback of value.
