Okay, I've done a fair bit of searching here (search engine isn't the best, so perhaps I'm just missing it) and the internets and I can't come up with definitive zipper weights. Am I just dreaming or shouldn't there be a table with two columns; zipper size, and weight (g/ft would be my preference)? Does anyone possess this super-secret information?
TIA,
ChrisJul 18, 2010 at 9:04 pm #1630208I have not seen this listed either. I can weigh some #3 coil with double pulls if that will help you.
Jul 18, 2010 at 9:13 pm #1630211Generic values, probably about right for most brands
Plastic #3 coil zipper: ~12 g/m
Plastic #5 coil zipper: ~28 g/mMetal double-sided #3 slider: ~3.2 g
Sorry – can't answer for others.
CheersJul 19, 2010 at 3:15 pm #1630411I recently measured 45g for 90" of Uretek (waterproof) plastic #5 zip.
Double sided metal sliders were 4.2g but I think that was after I clipped off the zipper pulls and replaced them with some spectra cord.
