I pack my GG Ti shepard hooks in the the thin bubble wrap sleeve they arrived in with duct tape reinforcing the ends.

I carry my Ti shepard hooks rolled up in my stove windscreen. This stuff goes in an outside pocket of the pack.

stake bag is the best! love it. Shock cord closure so no line loc to eff with. Uber light, very tough, I've got 30 nights on mine and no signs of wear. just the right size.

1. Roll up tent & pack it in stuffsack

2. put stakes in their litle sack

3. slide stake sack in between the rolled tent & its stuffsack

Here is a stake bag I made from two $5.00 bills and a $10.00. I figured I always bring $20.00 with me for emergencies. Why not have my money follow the “multi-use” rule of ultra light hiking. I haven’t used it on any over-night trips yet. But I did throw it in the bottom of my pack on a day trip recently. I think it will work pretty well.

I've already got a bag for my tent poles that prevents poking through other stuff, and there's room in it for stakes

– no additional cost
– no additional weight

If I was going to use a separate container, I like DIY Tyvek envelope mod

but I'd rather spend $5 with a cottage company than $3 to buy something I don't need just for its container.

Re the tent pole bag idea, I never seem to have clean stakes, though I make an effort to clean them. This results in a lot of dirt and dust in the pole bag and I've had poles get stuck assembled due to grit where they mate. So, I'm a fan of a small separate container.

I mostly use the SMD Lunar Duo, and I can get stakes poles and guyline in the stuffsack with the tent itself, making for a nice all-in-one bundle.

The cuben wallet sold by Z-Pack is a great size for your guylines.

Yes, I like Joe's stuff. great service and a can-do attitude go a long way with me.

Corrugated cardboard- cut a piece from a box a little longer than your stakes and slip them down each of the little holes made by the corrugations. Pack flat or roll up. Great to protect gear from sharp skewer type stakes.

Mark Hurd scores points for foraging and dirtbagging. Really nice original idea man. I love the creativity and simplicity.

i don't do anything fancy. a simple rubber band around mine and put into an outside pocket in my pack

+1 to Ben & Franco's method. (if a full size tent)

If its my tarp then just a rubber band and placed in the tarps mesh bag.

I can't remember where I got the bag, but I have a mini-bubble bubble wrap bag i got my titanium stakes in, it weigh .1 oz and fits 10 stakes. It was either BPL stakes or from Gossamer gear.
