Thoughts on tent before I pull the trigger

I have had the Mutha Hubba in a lot of rain in MN and never saw a drop inside. I have a review of the Hubba Hubba HP coming soon that saw everything and the same result.

Considering where they are based it seems funny that they would NOT be a good PNW tent.

The sizing and the way the sidewalls lean in.

Does anyone every carry a small tarp and ground sheet for the dog to sleep under separate from your own sleeping quarters? I would imagine have a wet dog inside a tent with a down bag would be somewhat of a challenge.

I guess somewhere in here a *pup tent* joke could be inserted. But seriously, it would be an interesting project, a tiny tent (say 1/4 person to 1/2 person) for a dog.

Mary D has a lot of experience with that and has posted prolifically about it. I would imagine that it is safer/wiser to keep a dog inside the tent than in a vestibule or a separate shelter.
Apparently dogs see even mesh walls as solid objects , as some possum also seem to do the same here…

MLD has a Mini Tarp / Dog Tarp that weighs under 5 oz and costs $45.00.

This is why I decided against the Seedhouse SL2 and chose a Scarp 2 instead.

I have a Seedhouse SL2, and have camped in it a couple of times. I don't think that I'd have bought it had I learned about this forum first.

I also have a Scarp1 2010 model, and now the Seedhouse feels very clumsy to set up. And the vestibule's too small. And you can't pitch the inner and outer together, like you can on a Scarp. It's easy to get a good pitch with a Scarp, even if you're a beginner like me. :)
