I'm a sucker for gadgets and I was wandering around REI tonight with my dividend burning a hole in my pocket. I gathered up a couple items actually on my want list and I got hung up in the water bottle section.

I found this gizmo by humangear called a capCAP, which is a simple lid for a Nalgene wide mouth type bottle with a smaller 1" cap in the center. It is 1.4oz and replaces the 0.7oz Nalgene cap, for a net gain of 0.7oz.

I'm using a Steripen this season, so wide mouth bottles are handy, but they can be sloppy to drink from. I think this goodie is a natural for the soft Nalgene canteens. It works on Camelbak, Cyclone and other bottles too.

The smaller cap isn't a standard soda bottle size, is it?

Hmmm… that should be interesting. A wide mouth, hard sided bottle that can scoop water easily, then fitted to a narrow mouth Frontier Pro for drinking…
