I tried to get some BPLers up in W. Pa but had no success.

It worked well in MN and the Bay area but not sure why? I know MN has other yahoo groups (hiker@yahoo) that people know each other from.

Oh well

Maybe we should move to the Bay area. If we both win the lottery we could maybe split a house. I cant believe I didn't even get a single reply- WEAK!

I hear ya. Tried in MidAtlantic and only got one reply. I guess some areas are just a bit more individualistic than others….

Maybe this might help….Ken T. has been talking about getting a BPLer weekend trip up his way at the CA/OR Boarder area?

Maybe we can all hook up at that gathering?

No specific date has been put forth, but something April to July????

Definitely interested but we (my wife and I) get little time off and have already gotten plane tickets to fly down south and run some "race through history" 10K "race". More of a benefit or something, than competitive.

We could still find something in that time period, but it would have to be 3 days-ish.

Bummer man, finding time is harder than finding spots to get to.

Alright, I'm gonna bump this with all the activity I see from the area.

My initial thought is to do a meetup somewhere halfway between Seattle and Portland in mid to late June. We could hike in a few miles with the option to stay overnight (or bring a grill?)

Somewhere around the St. Helens Coldwater area would be about 1.5+ hours from Portland and 2.5+ hours from Seattle, but I'm open to all kinds of ideas (places closer to I-5?)

What say you? We're really going to let Californians one-up us?

Been no contest so far. 3 years running. 4th one is already planned. So Cal even pulled one off recently. We even pulled people in from back east. You guys need to try harder;)

I'd be in in late June or early July, between Seattle and Portland, or any time over the summer (I'm a teacher with loads of free time in July and August)

I tried this a couple years ago w/ no luck, but I wasn't very good with the follow through. Maybe this will be better.
