I was lucky enough to receive a new Titanium Goat Ptarmigan, as well as some new wool baselayers. I'm looking forward to the MLIFE sale tomorrow too for some post-holiday self-gifting.

pretty good haul! The montane is a truly amazing jacket, and the nemo tent is a really pleasant surprise in terms of weight and setup.

    – Snow Peak Ti 600 mug
    – Snow Peak Gigapower Lite Max stove

I love my Caldera Cone Keg F system, but I also like to have a canister stove for colder or windier conditions. This new gear will replace my JetBoil Flash PCS, which is awesome but not really lightweight. Now I just need a lid and a cozy… thank goodness for the BPL community!

As guessed, the box was a Tenkara rod, the 11-foot Iwane, just what I wanted. A thing of beauty, that's for sure, but it's a little difficult to play around with an 11-foot rod in a room with an 8-foot ceiling! Another box contained enough line and tippet to last me the next 10 years, plus some flies. I have no idea how Japanese flies will work on American fish, but I'll find out next summer!

    You guys are soooo lucky.

All I got for Christmas was a trip to Mexico.

I haven't been to Mexico in a few months now. I usually hit it 3 or 4 times per year. I was in Monterrey last. What part are you in?

I finally gave up on our Big Agnes Insulated Air Core pads after three consecutive valve failures and a fourth with a leak we could never find. I took them back to REI.

Santa brought us two new Thermarest Prolite Plus pads – one woman's regular and one man's short. We'll see how these work.
