I was lucky enough to receive a new Titanium Goat Ptarmigan, as well as some new wool baselayers. I'm looking forward to the MLIFE sale tomorrow too for some post-holiday self-gifting.

BPL long-handled spoon
BPL Vapor Mitts
Tarptent Moment
Tenkara Hane rod

(Though I ordered the Hane a while ago, technically it is a Christmas present from my wife. Haven't gotten the line yet, though.)

– Snow Peak Ti 600 mug
– Snow Peak Gigapower Lite Max stove

I love my Caldera Cone Keg F system, but I also like to have a canister stove for colder or windier conditions. This new gear will replace my JetBoil Flash PCS, which is awesome but not really lightweight. Now I just need a lid and a cozy… thank goodness for the BPL community!

As guessed, the box was a Tenkara rod, the 11-foot Iwane, just what I wanted. A thing of beauty, that's for sure, but it's a little difficult to play around with an 11-foot rod in a room with an 8-foot ceiling! Another box contained enough line and tippet to last me the next 10 years, plus some flies. I have no idea how Japanese flies will work on American fish, but I'll find out next summer!

Went for my biweekly massage this morning, and my therapist (who I've been going to, every other week, for about 7 years or so) gave me the following! She knows me well…..

You guys are soooo lucky.

All I got for Christmas was a trip to Mexico.

It's quite warm here…..;)

@ David

I haven't been to Mexico in a few months now. I usually hit it 3 or 4 times per year. I was in Monterrey last. What part are you in?

I finally gave up on our Big Agnes Insulated Air Core pads after three consecutive valve failures and a fourth with a leak we could never find. I took them back to REI.

Santa brought us two new Thermarest Prolite Plus pads – one woman's regular and one man's short. We'll see how these work.

Got a Spot 2 as well, had to send it back right away :( still waiting for the box to arrive. Got an ENO Hammock as well, can't wait to lounge in the trees when the snow clears up.
