I got a cord lock with a light in it that's suitable for emergency backup.
Dec 25, 2009 at 9:43 am #1556871I was lucky enough to receive a new Titanium Goat Ptarmigan, as well as some new wool baselayers. I'm looking forward to the MLIFE sale tomorrow too for some post-holiday self-gifting.

Dec 25, 2009 at 11:25 am #1556886– Snow Peak Ti 600 mug
– Snow Peak Gigapower Lite Max stoveI love my Caldera Cone Keg F system, but I also like to have a canister stove for colder or windier conditions. Dec 25, 2009 at 12:44 pm #1556893LOL — I missed that. I guess great gear minds all think alike.
Dec 25, 2009 at 1:17 pm #1556896As guessed, the box was a Tenkara rod, the 11-foot Iwane, just what I wanted. A thing of beauty, that's for sure, but it's a little difficult to play around with an 11-foot rod in a room with an 8-foot ceiling! Another box contained enough line and tippet to last me the next 10 years, plus some flies. I have no idea how Japanese flies will work on American fish, but I'll find out next summer!
Dec 25, 2009 at 1:31 pm #1556900I got 2pairs of Merino wool socks, some WP gloves, a cast iron griddle (SUH backpacking anyone? :D… and this:

Dec 25, 2009 at 3:34 pm #1556929Went for my biweekly massage this morning, and my therapist (who I've been going to, every other week, for about 7 years or so) gave me the following! She knows me well…..

Very nice. You must be paying a lot for her services. ;)
Dec 25, 2009 at 4:06 pm #1556936You guys are soooo lucky.
All I got for Christmas was a trip to Mexico.
It's quite warm here…..;)
Dec 25, 2009 at 4:12 pm #1556937@ David
I haven't been to Mexico in a few months now. I usually hit it 3 or 4 times per year. I was in Monterrey last. What part are you in?
Dec 25, 2009 at 4:20 pm #1556939I finally gave up on our Big Agnes Insulated Air Core pads after three consecutive valve failures and a fourth with a leak we could never find. I took them back to REI.
Santa brought us two new Thermarest Prolite Plus pads – one woman's regular and one man's short. We'll see how these work.
Dec 25, 2009 at 4:20 pm #1556940We are in Nuevo Vallarta. Compared to -47C, this is much nicer!
